Jason and April Lloyd own a low volume, high sales photography studio in Blytheville, Arkansas. While the primary focus of their studio is newborn, children and family portraiture, the Lloyds also offer high school senior portraiture and corporate head shots. The Lloyds started their business in 2009, and recently moved their storefront studio into a historic home that they converted into a beautiful new studio space. They take pride in offering a high-end service with a down-home, small town feel by being client centric and genuine in their approach.

Jason’s background is in graphic design and he serves as the primary photographer for the studio. He is a Certified Professional Photographer and currently serves as a CPP Liaison with the Professional Photographers Association. Jason is also a silver medalist with the PPA. He was awarded the Arkansas Professional Photographers Association’s Child Photographer of the Year in 2017, 2018, and 2019 as well as Photographer of the Year in 2018. He has earned an Associate and senior Fellowship medal with the APPA and is currently serving on its board of directors.

Needle in the Needlestack

It’s no secret that there are more photographers than ever. Technology has allowed even the most novice shooter to become competition. With so many throwing their hat into the industry arena, it’s as important as ever to not be a “needle in a needlestack.” In addition to the client experience you offer, your work should stand apart from others who all tend to look the same, or follow the trends. This hands-on class will dive into the simple, yet effective, principles of finding, and/or creating light that will make your work stand out from the rest of the “needles” in your needlestack.
